10.3.13 Karaoke Scandal at Mad Momos and more!

Furlough, coo coo, kraziness yes, furlough woes have struck the area bars and businesses. Karaoke was at a crawl last night but a a good crawl. Just when we started to close the show early, people began to show up. We had the suites n' ties, black cocktail dresses/skirts, and singers in the group, namely Omar who sang a song that someone else picked for him. NO matter how NY Fabulous they looked they all seemed to be in good spirits and about 15 to 20 people deep. After a few songs they retreated to dinner upstairs and I felt all alone until Jacob, Wanchuk, Charles and his date all got up to sing. Now the crawl had returned and we were doing a serious repeat of performers until about 10:00 PM and boom people began to show up and sing their azzes off! I was ready and beat tired trying to get to my sofa and Sam (the owner) and I both agreed it was time to kill this biscuit, but people actually started coming out to sing. In walked Joe, a long time friend, and an excellent crooner. Sam got to sing 1.5 songs of his own. Margaux showed up and sang as promised. She loves Mary J. A brother and sister, stopped in after walking by stopped in. We had Ray, Jen, Robert, and his crew to get in a a song or two, and then out of the blue in walked Rafael and his brother and a friend. We nearly had a packed house. All in all we had a successful show. I can take about 20 more people per Thursday but karaoke at Mad Momos is miraculous! Pictures to be added later.
